Music Committee

The FFT's Music Committee was created in response to a survey completed by FFT members in 2006. Many respondents to the survey asked that the music be revised and expanded to better meet the needs of our members.

The committee, which started meeting in June of 2007, agreed to operate in an advisory capacity and is bringing back suggestions and ideas to the FFT Steering Committee.  Our current committee members include Karen Arndorfer, Julia Freije, Linda Abar, Vee Nash, Jim Noble, Lucille Olson, Sharon Pierce, Janet Skole, and Sue Thelen.

Our vision is: to review and to assess our music to reflect the FFT's purpose and guiding principles, and to offer recommendations that would enhance the role of music for our services.

In achieving this purpose we have developed the following goals, which are to:

*Oversee how music is used in the Sunday Service.
*Offer suggestions for new music.
*Recruit new musicians.
*Create guidelines for new musicians.
*Provide feedback regarding songs and musicians.
*Make recommendations for changes in music.
*Reorganize and revise the Sing Your Song songbook to include more songs.
*Encourage more services and programs with music as the focus.
*Share music programs with other New Thought churches and organizations.

Anyone interested in making music more meaningful to our organization may participate in our quest in revising and expanding the role of music for the FFT.
